A nephew of Sam Cooke, R. B Greaves lived a hard ass life. His debut single "Take a Letter Maria" had been recorded by both Tom Jones and Stevie Wonder before the author recorded it himself at the insistence of Atlantic Records president Ahmet Ertegün, who produced it. What a diiiick. Anyway, Greaves is one cool SOB and I demand a history channel biopic.
